Here at Nova Epos Ltd we had an active day shipping 74 Star printers for our customer KARALI GROUP LIMITED

Bound for Burger King restaurants under the award winning Karali Group franchise, these Star printers are a popular product with our many Uber Eats operators. As an Uber Eats preferred supplier, Nova Epos were able to provide a fast and efficient service.

Each printer went to a different Burger King restaurant across the UK, so we were busy attaching shipping labels and checking details.

We worked hard to get the deliveries arranged in good time so the restaurants can offer Uber Eats to their many customers.

Real-Link Security Patrol System is welcomed by Security Companies

Since November 2009, Nova Epos have been marketing the Real-Link proof of attendance solution to the security industry with great success in being an effective security patrols system. Real-Link is a real-time proof of attendance system that uses Near Field Communication (NFC) and Radio Frequency Identification (RFID technology).

Using a NFC enabled mobile phone, an employee needs to only touch a pre-positioned tag point to prove where they have been and when. Using GPRS the data is sent back to the server immediately, enabling managers to view this in real-time via a web based log-in.

This functionality is proving to be extremely useful for security patrols systems. They place RFID tags at certain points around static and mobile sites and the security guard is equipped with the NFC phone. When he is patrolling, he simply touches the tag with the phone to prove he has been there. This is great for security companies to ensure that their guards are doing the job they should be, but also as proof to their clients of the service they are providing.

Real-Link also has other functionality that is ideal for security patrols systems. As well as transmitting basic information about where the guard has been and when, the system can also enable the guard to record information at the touch of a button on the phone. Information such as if the site is secure or insecure, if there is a broken window, a fire and a whole lot of other information can be recorded whilst on site. This not only removes the need to fill in paper forms on site but also enables a supervisor or control room to see this information immediately.

Within the last couple of years Real-Link evolved and new features were added which are proven to be beneficial for security guards. One of these feature is the attendance alert module which enables a text message or email to be sent if a patrol is missed. This is a great tool to help with lone worker protection as you will know instantly if a patrol is missed and can try to contact the guard to check that everything is alright.

Nova Epos kept busy at the Hotel, Catering & Retail Show

On March 14th and 15th Nova Epos exhibited at the Hotel, Catering and Retail show at the Bournemouth International Centre. Demonstrating a number of products including Real-Link, Sharp EPOS systems and Zapper, Nova Epos were kept busy with many inquiries from establishments including hotels, coffee shops, restaurants, tourist attractions and education providers.

The Real-Link demonstration was primarily aimed at hotels but many potential customers could see how it could be used across their businesses including restaurants, bars and entertainment venues. Real-Link is ideal for many different types of business.

In hotels, it can be used for security and noise patrols, cleaning inspections, mini bar checks, fire door checks and many more. Other businesses were interested in using Real-Link for opening and closing checks, toilet checks and other inspections performed normally with paper. The real-time aspect of the system and the automated reports means that all of these checks can be performed quicker with less time spent organising and analysing the data.

Many of the visitors to the Nova Epos stand were interested in epos systems. We were able to demonstrate the full Sharp EPOS system which is a complete solution with all the software, hardware, support and peripherals required. The Sharp hospitality EPOS system is a low maintenance system that is quick and easy to administer. Alongside Zapper, which is a fast and simple way for customers to pay via their smartphone, and merchant services, Nova Epos can really help to transform the payment processes of any business.

Whittlebury Park Golf and Country Club choose the TSP800 from Nova Epos

Whittlebury Park Golf & Country Club is set in over 600 acres of picturesque parkland, designated a site of special landscape beauty with magnificent oaks that are hundreds of years old and over a dozen fresh water lakes. Situated next to the world famous Silverstone Racing Circuit, Whittlebury Park enjoys private paths into the circuit and provides camping and parking all year round, for all of the major race meetings including the British Grand Prix, Superbikes, Touring Cars and the Historic Festival. Being the closest campsite to the circuit, regular guests have been enjoying the facilities for many years.

Identifying the requirements

Identifying the need to be able to instantly recognise if a customer has paid for their pitch on site at any given time, Whittlebury Park contacted Nova Epos – suppliers of a wide range of rugged and durable hardware products perfectly suited to this kind of situation, to discuss what their options might be and what was available.

Whittlebury Park had determined that they needed something that was instantly recognisable, something colourful and noticeable – placed in a position where it could not be tampered with by other campers on site. The obvious solution was to have something placed inside the car, where it could be locked safely away, attached to something so that it could not fall to the floor or be missed on inspection. It was soon realised that something to hang off the rear view mirror was the perfect solution.

Nova Epos contacted DED, specialists in all kind of label printers and bespoke label printing and worked with them to find the best possible answer for Whittlebury Park.

TSP800

The Star Micronics TSP800 was seen to be the perfect solution due to its capability to take wider paper than a regular receipt printer, enabling Whittlebury Park to maximise the space on the in car hangars. It was also selected due to its small footprint – being used in a small office area, this was a very important consideration and the thermal printing it offered which meant a lower running cost.

The hangars have their reverse side pre printed with the terms and conditions and other information associated with the campsite and are then printed on demand for each customer as and they arrive on the campsite as proof of payment.

Each hanger is printed on bright paper, making it easily identifiable and contains the following information – event name, customer name, site / plot, arrival / departure date and vehicle registration number. Once given to the customer, they are hung in place for the duration of their stay.

Commenting on the selection of the TSP800 from Nova Epos, Louise King, Estate Activities Co-Ordinator said “All users have found the TSP800 simple to use and ideal for our requirements.”

The TSP800 is a very fast thermal barcode, label, receipt and ticket printer which features a unique paper width of 112mm wide on papers of up to 150gsm in weight and all in a printer only 180mm wide! The TSP800 uses Star’s simple “Drop-In & Print” paper loading feature and features an external paper feed path for large diameter and fanfold tickets as standard. Interfacing is no problem thanks to both ESC/POS, DP8340 emulation mode and the traditional Star mode. The TSP800 has a host of extra features including two colour printing, wall and desk mount brackets, interchangeable interfaces and drivers for most operating systems.
